Arrest Made in Fatal Shooting

South St. Paul Police have arrested one man in connection with the August 17th shooting in that city, resulting in the death of one man. According to the Dakota County Jail Roster, Jerome Deshawn Misters, 35 years old, of Newport, was arrested just after 7 AM on August 17th, and booked into the Dakota County jail under charges of 2nd degree murder, 2nd degree felony assault with a dangerous weapon, and a felony weapons violation charge. Misters is currently being held without bail pending judicial review, and he made an initial appearance in court on the 19th. Misters is presumed innocent until proven guilty by due process of law.
