Kelly Jansen has been selected as the next Assistant Superintendent of Academic Excellence and Accountability for the South Washington County School District. According to Superintendent Julie Nielsen, Jansen is a familiar face in the district, serving as Director of Teaching and Learning Services since 2018. Jansen’s leadership has also led to community participation through the Curriculum Advisory Committee focused on reviewing curricular resources and decisions related to instruction in SoWashCo schools. Jansen will assist with the hiring of her replacement for director of teaching and learning and will work closely with Assistant Superintendents Kristine Shaefer and Dr. Tyrone Brookins to ensure a smooth transition. Jansen will oversee SoWashCo’s four middle schools with additional oversight for several departments to be announced at a later date.
