Rosemount area residents are coming together to commemorate high school student Cap George, who passed away last year after a battle with brain cancer. According to published reports, following after Cap’s example of helping others, a 13 Acts for Cap movement was carried out from from March 1 to March 13. The number is a nod to the teen’s basketball jersey number. The project is meant to spread love and joy the way George would be proud of. 13 Acts for Cap is organized by his friends as a way to grieve and give back. It started with a few dozen kind acts shared to social media on March 1. That number is now more than 70 per day. On the one-year anniversary of George’s death, his family donated $13,000 to the Hope Fieldhouse in Rosemount as a kind act for Cap. Cap also received a special honor as the first inductee into the community athletic facility’s hall of fame.
