At approximately 10:30 AM on Thursday, March 17, a pole-mounted power line disconnect switch near St. Elizabeth Anne Seaton School failed, causing a power outage throughout most of the downtown area of Hastings. Al Storlie, Fire Marshall for Hastings provided a brief update.
A repair crew from Excel Energy was on the scene within half an hour, and power was restored by 11:30 AM.
