St. Joseph Catholic Church in Prescott recently welcomed Father Zacharie Beya to the Parish as their new priest. Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Father Beya has had a long road to come to St. Joseph’s in Prescott. According to his introduction to the church, he is the fourth of eleven children, and was ordained in Rome on August 31st of 1975. He has spent time as a professor in the Seminary, and has his doctorate, also from Rome. He has served parishes in La Crosse, Neillsville, Loyal, and Wisconsin Rapids, all in WI. He enjoys reading and music, and entertaining visitors, even though he claims he is “a lousy cook”.
