The City of Cottage Grove announces that District Chief Jeff Brown has retired from the Cottage Grove Fire Department. According to information provided by City Council member Justin Olson, Brown provided 27 years of dedicated service to the CGFD. Olson commented that Jeff is a model of professionalism and class as a public servant, and those traits he has passed on as a great mentor to many in the fire service who have been fortunate enough to work with him. Olson concluded his comments saying that Brown may be retiring but his impact on the CGFD will be felt well into the future.
