PHS Investigates Threat

Hastings High School was not the only victim of a mysterious threat against the school last weekend, as now Prescott High School has also issued a statement regarding a threat of violence at the school. According to Superintendent Dr. Rick Spicuzza, the District was made aware on May 10th of a social media post regarding a school attack. District officials and the Prescott Police Department, with assistance of the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office immediately began investigating the social media post and the possible threat. Investigators have determined that the post was shared nationally, was vague, and had no direct ties to the Prescott School District. Investigators have also determined that the post originated in Oklahoma. The District continues to monitor social media and will adhere to safety protocols. Parents are encouraged to monitor their children’s social media activity, and provide guidance, if they see or hear something, to share the information with a trusted adult. Please feel free to contact District Administration at 715-262-4224 with questions or concerns.
