Hastings Food Service workers and union leaders with SEIU Local 284 are expressing concern over news that the district is beginning the process of privatizing nutrition services. This decision comes less than two months after the workers held a seven-week strike during February and March. According to the Union, ISD 200 has yet to bargain with the union about any privatization process despite repeated attempts for clarification and explicit requests from Local 284. KDWA has reached out to the District for comment.
