Hastings and CPKC Rail officials gathered at the 2nd Street railroad crossing in Hastings on Tuesday, and used spray chalk and stencils to put warnings at the pedestrian crossings, as part of Rail Safety Week. CP Rail Police Sergeant Michelle Mair commented on the importance of rail crossing safety.
Sgt. Mair says that awareness is improving but accidents are still happening.
