Former Hastings City Council person Danna Elling Schultz has announced she will run for the office of Hastings Mayor. In a press release from the candidate, she outlines her priorities and background in making the decision.
Elling Schultz served on the Hastings City Council for four terms, has served as Chair of the Finance, Public Safety and Administrative committees and has served on the HEDRA commission addressing Economic Development. She noted that she wants to ensure that city government works for residents in all parts of Hastings and acknowledges that civil discussions about divisive issues can take place to bring a positive outcome as long as those involved are willing to strike the right balance that helps move the community forward.
