On Tuesday, November 12, THRIVE in Hastings welcomed Ellie Krug for a presentation entitled “Transgender 101”. According to the City Newsletter, 141 community members, leaders, and visitors attended the engaging presentation to learn more about what it means to be transgendered or gender non-conforming. A respectful question and answer session followed, with questions ranging from concerns, to pleas for help, to how to serve and support a friend or family member who may be on a similar journey. Krug stayed late to have many one on one conversations and has offered to return to Hastings, to offer her Gray Area Thinking training. THRIVE will work with Ellie to schedule the training in 2020. All upcoming events are listed on the city webpage, at HastingsMN.gov/THRIVE, or follow THRIVE on Facebook, at FaceBook.com/THRIVEinHastings. Join THRIVE on Thursday, November 21 at the Hastings Social House, 111 3rd Street E, at 6:30 PM, for THRIVE Thursday. Thrive Thursdays are a chance for open community conversation on a variety of topics relation to diversity, equity and inclusion.
