Red Rock Cafe Sold

One spot in Downtown Hastings has been a hit for many locals getting their fill on good homegrown cooking. Red Rock Cafe has been a place of good food, friendly service and great malts under Karl Hanye’s ownership. The establishment was sold last Friday and is changing hands with new owner David Perez of Woodbury at the helm. Stemming from a family who owns multiple businesses in the metro area surrounding everything Mexican including bakeries and other eateries, Perez has a history in the eatery business and looks to bring his own take on Mexican food to the city of Hastings with his business partner, Marciano Jaimes. The partnership started one branch of the Mexican inspired business on 5th and Lake Street in Minneapolis with hopes that this new location brings much success as well. Moving forward Perez plans to change the name to El Mexican of Hastings, change the hours to include dinner and later evenings on the weekends and to serve alcohol as well. Breakfast will remain the same with additions of Mexican inspired breakfast options with new lunch and dinner. Located at 119 2nd Street East in Downtown Hastings, the changes to the establishment of food, decor, name and hours are scheduled to be in place by the first part of next month.
