Monday Morning Update- 10AM-A report from the Dakota County booking log confirms that 37 year old Joseph Marshall Broady was taken into custody following an incident in Hastings that took place on Sunday , February 17th. Broady is charged with one count of terroristic threats, one of stalking and one 5th degree assault charge. The incident resulted in the SWAT team being called to a home in the 1700 block of Carriage Hill Court. A regional Everbridge alert went out during that event calling for neighbors of that area to shelter in place until the situation was contained. Broady is currently held at the Dakota County Jail.
We now have more information on an incident that caused concern for those receiving a shelter in place message from the Everbridge alert system on Sunday night. Hastings Police Chheif Bryan Schafer provided a statement on the reason behind the warning.
