Employment Opportunities in City Departments

Employment opportunities are available at the City. Applications are now being taken for the position of City Engineer. This position became vacant when Nick Egger was promoted to Public Works Director. Interested applicants can complete a form at City Hall during normal business hours.
Building Inspector Terry Renlund has resigned his position with the City. Terry has been with the City since 2007 and we wish him continued success in his new position. Applications to fill this position will be accepted until May 24th. Job information can be found on the city’s website, www.hastingsmn.gov.
From the Hastings Fire Department, updates concerning the the selection of the newly established Fire Captain are now in. The pool of candidates for the newly created position of Fire Captain has been narrowed to seven. These candidates will be participating in Inbox and CPI testing on Thursday, May 14th. They hope to have three new Captains on board in the near future. And from the Hastings Police Department, nine Police Officer candidates will participate in final interviews on May 19th. Two new officers are expected to begin employment in early June. HPD has also made conditional offers to three Police Reservists.
