Renewal by Andersen Expansion Underway

Renewal by Andersen held a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday to mark the beginning of an expansion that was announced earlier this year. The 125,000-square-foot expansion is the first major expansion since the plant opened and comes at the same time the company is celebrating its 20th anniversary. On hand to help celebrate were Cottage Grove City Council members, representatives from the state of Minnesota, representatives from the City of Cottage Grove, RSP Architects, Renewal by Andersen’s employees, and many community partners. Andersen Corporation CEO Jay Lund, Renewal by Andersen President Paul Delahunt, Cottage Grove Mayor Myron Bailey, McGough Construction Chief Operating Officer Brad Wood, and RSP Architect Project Manager, Matt Lilly all spoke at the event. Mayor Bailey said this expansion is an important project for not only Cottage Grove, but the County and the state. “To have this type of expansion and the jobs they will be creating is a huge shot in the arm for the Cottage Grove economy and the state economy. The City appreciates everything the expansion is doing for the community.” The expansion supports the growth of the Renewal by Andersen window replacement business. It will add both manufacturing and office space, and 200 new jobs will be added. Construction is expected to be completed by April 2016.
