The opening of the area’s newest convenience store and gas station took place this morning at 5AM. KDWA’s Kelly Casey arrived just minutes before the doors were opened, and talked with several people waiting in the dark for the lights to go on at the Kwik Trip, store #249 located at 1630 Vermillion Street. In the darkend parking lot, several others hovered nearby as Jeff Schaff counted the minutes down.
At 5 o’clock sharp, the red neon sign was illuminated and the lights were flipped on. The doors were opened by Manager Derrick Struve.
Employing about 40 people, Struve describes the last busy days before the opening.
There will be a more formal event taking place next week.
