Tonight is Halloween, communities throughout the area welcome trick or treating with the common sign of a lit porchlight or other such sign to announce that treats will be handed out there. In Prescott, the council adopted official treat times from 5-8 pm, however no official treat time has been enacted in most other cities. In Hastings, the bags distributed last week by the National Honor society members to be used for food donations will be picked up tonight. Please have them ready at your door. Children are reminded to visit neighborhood houses and to wait to sample treats until you can get them back to parents who can examine them first. And drivers, please use extreme caution to allow excited ghosts and goblins safe passage from block to block.
