The Republican Party of Wisconsin reported that on Tuesday morning, an individual walking outside the party’s Hudson Field Office discovered a potential explosive device outside the office. According to a press release, office staff members and volunteers were not present at the office at the time, and authorities were immediately notified. In a statement, Andrew Hitt, Chairman of the Republican Party of Wisconsin commented that “We have differences in our views, in our philosophies, and our vision for America, but violence or threats of violence cannot stand because such actions lead to potential destruction that can’t be overcome,” adding, “We are grateful that everyone is safe at this time and we hope that the situation is swiftly and safely resolved.” The incident remains under investigation, and anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact the authorities.
