Joy Lutheran Church of Prescott has announced a new facet of worship available while the COVID-19 pandemic unfolds. According to the Joy Lutheran Newsletter, it is still not safe to gather indoors together, so online worship is still their main focus, but they have added a Wednesday night “Drive-In” devotional time during the summer. Church leadership said that parishioners will have to remain in their cars for social distancing, and they will offer Holy Communion with sterile pre-packaged elements. The service will be broadcast on 87.9 FM using a low-power transmitter, and as the summer progresses and conditions improve, Joy hopes to be able to offer other outdoor worship options. The Wednesday Service is scheduled for 6:30 PM, in the parking lot.
