The Minnesota Turkey Research and Promotion Council (MTRPC) has announced the election of John Peterson, a third generation turkey grower from Cannon Falls, as President of the MTRPC Board for a one-year term. According to information provided by the MTRPC, Peterson is actively engaged in both turkey production and the selling of turkey products under the Ferndale Market label. Ferndale Market’s free-range & antibiotic-free turkey products are found in natural food stores and served in many restaurants and college and corporate foodservice settings throughout the Upper Midwest. Peterson says he hopes to bring a unique perspective to the board as it’s important for all segments of the industry to be represented and to work together to promote turkey and Minnesota farmers.
