Pelzel Retires

Dakota County pioneering EMS tech Rose Pelzel will retire from a 50 year career as an EMT on Friday, April 2nd. Sources say that Rose is regarded as a trailblazer for the paramedic profession in Minnesota. While seeing a woman in an ambulance is normal now, Rose was the first of her kind in the early 1970s. With five decades of service, she is believed to be the longest serving street medic in the nation. She was also active as a mentor for new emergency responders, and her services will be greatly missed.
