Apartment Construction Begins

The Hastings City Council approved two separate development projects at the March 7 City Council meeting that will revitalize the south end of the City and expand the landscape of the historic downtown area. Enclave Development will construct two apartment buildings totaling 211 units south of 33rd Street between Terry’s Hardware and Coborn’s grocery store. Construction is expected to begin this summer. And, the Stencil Group will construct an 89-unit market-rate apartment building on the former UBC Lumber site located west of Bailey Street between 3rd and 4th Streets in downtown Hastings. The five-story building will include studio, 1 and 2 bedroom units that will rent for approximately $900 to $1,700-month. Construction is expected to begin this spring.
