On Monday afternoon in Hastings, a police pursuit northbound on Highway 61 over the Mississippi River bridge ended with a crash at the entrance to MRI Underground Contracting. According to available information and witness accounts, officers attempted to stop the vehicle after learning the driver had a warrant. After the vehicle crashed, the driver fled on foot into the woods, and officers learned there were 2 juveniles in the vehicle. A perimeter was set up and additional resources were requested, including medics for kids in the vehicle with injuries. Officers ended the search with no suspect found. This case remains under investigation.
