CNC Announces WI Visitor Center Grand Opening

Carpenter St. Croix Valley Nature Center’s visitor center project at the Wisconsin Campus is winding down, as construction is wrapping up on CNC’s new Al and Laurie Hein Visitor Center. According the CNC website, since the initial gift of land by the Heins in 1989, Carpenter has envisioned, and worked toward, a permanent facility on the Wisconsin Campus, which would help to further the mission of land stewardship and environmental education. In 2008, CNC acquired the final parcel for the Wisconsin Campus and have worked to develop a natural resource management plan approved by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and a site master plan approved by many partners and Cove neighbors. The Wisconsin Campus Expansion Project has the full support of the board of directors and staff. The project currently awaits final grading and other last minute touches. The plan is for the building to be open for visitors by the weekend of July 9 & 10 for a Grand Opening and Masters of the Sky celebration. Keep up with the Project on the CNC website.
