Nurses Set To Picket Regina

On June 10th, nurses with the Minnesota Nurses Association at Allina’s Regina Hospital in Hastings announced their intent to picket on Tuesday, June 21 outside of the hospital. Regina nurses have been bargaining with Allina since April 11, 2022, and their current contracts expired on June 1. As they negotiate their new contract, nurses are seeking solutions that will address the understaffing and retention crises so they can provide patients with the high-quality care they deserve. According to a press release, the crisis of understaffing and retention in Minnesota hospitals has been going on for years, as CEOs cut nurses and cut expenses even while costs increase for Minnesota patients. Picket organizers state that this informational picket is not a work stoppage and nurses will not be walking off the job to participate in the picket and hospital operations will not be affected by the action.
