A 30-year veteran of the Miesville Fire Department has been stricken with Stage 3 Rectal Cancer, and the Miesville Fire Department will hold a fundraiser to help offset the cost of diagnosis and treatment. The Department reports that Bob Neil was diagnosed with the cancer during a hunting trip in South Dakota earlier this year. In order to help with the costs, a benefit will be held from noon to 5 PM on Saturday, July 16th at the Castle Rock Bar, at 27998 Chippendale Ave, in Northfield. Additionally, an account has been set up at Castle Rock Bank for Neil’s medical costs, under “Bob Neil Benefit”. Castle Rock Bank has locations in Castle Rock, Farmington, and Randolph. Event organizers say that Bob is a man who would drop everything to help someone out, and urge residents to return the favor.
