The Minnesota Department of Health has named the winners of the 2023 “Escape the Vape” Video Challenge, and Hastings 8th grader Abbie Buchanan placed 2nd in the Middle School division with her entry, “The Process of Making a Vape”. According to a Department of Health press release, students from more than 50 Minnesota schools created 30-second videos to educate their peers on the dangers of vaping.
