The opening day of the recently-constructed Oxbow Trails in Afton is Thursday, June 15. Belwin Conservancy staff will be onsite to greet visitors from 9 AM to 6 PM that day. This new 41-acre park with 1.25 miles of chipped hiking trails along wooded ridges, shaded areas, and Valley Creek, is a mile from downtown Afton. Oxbow Trails is at 2398 St. Croix Trail S. in Afton. Beginning June 15, hikers of all ages may hike the trails and take in the woodland scenery. It will be open daily for public hiking from dawn to dusk. The project is the result of a partnership between Belwin Conservancy, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund, the City of Afton, and Washington County, through its Land and Water Legacy Program.
