The Pierce County Hunger Prevention Council celebrated the renovation of the Pierce County Food Shelf on Friday. Renovations were completed with funding from a $127,000 Community Facility Loan from the Rural Development branch of the USDA, and a $1,256 donation from CCF Bank’s Jeans for a Cause fundraiser. Included in the renovation is a permanent location, with an outdoor space for garden beds and community nutrition education.
