A heavy police presence was reported at about 1:30 PM on Thursday behind the Post Office in Downtown Hastings. Witnesses on the scene describe officers in full gear, and a BCA command vehicle on the scene with an investigation apparently centering on a dumpster in the alley behind the Post Office, and an apartment next to the Post Office, which was being cleaned out by officers. There is no word from the Police Department on the activity. Stay tuned to KDWA for updates on this story.
