Man Walks Over Bridge

An unidentified man decided to really take the high road while walking out of Hastings on Thursday, and was photographed atop the orange arches of the new Hastings Bridge over the Mississippi River. According to Hastings Deputy Chief of Police David Wilske, the 50-year-old male walked over the arch of the bridge. When met by police after the incident, the man stated to an officer that he was experienced with heights due to being an iron worker and was cooperative with the officer. He was provided transportation off of the bridge. Deputy Chief Wilske also stated that no citations were issued at the time, adding that he could have possibly faced charges such as trespassing on a critical public service structure or disorderly conduct.
