The Hastings City Council deliberated the Site Plan for the proposed KFC Restaurant in the 1700 Block of Vermillion Street at Monday evening’s City Council meeting. Community Development Director John Hinzman provided an update on the measure.
Earlier in the meeting, four Hastings residents, Brandon Spillman, Mary Jorgensen, and Tony and Lynn Vinge spoke during the public comment segment of the meeting, and also expressed concerns for traffic levels, how KFC would fit into the Corridor Plan, dumpster odor and scavenger animals. The Site Plan was approved by a vote of 5 to 2, with Council members Trevor Lund and Tina Folch opposing.
