In continuing coverage of the Dakota County Board of Commissioners special meeting on Tuesday, January 27th.
The reason for the special meeting, according to Dakota County, was to consider a letter with the intention to send the letter to Minnesota’s Congressional delegation and potentially other appropriate federal and state officials regarding federal law enforcement and its impact on county operations.
In the meeting’s agenda was the review of a letter and a resolution to act on—sending the letter to specific parties.
The intended recipients will be the Governor of Minnesota, Minnesota’s Congressional Delegation, the Secretary of Homeland Security, and the President of the United States.
KDWA connected with Commissioner and Chairperson Laurie Halverson (Dist. 3).
Commissioner Halverson explains why now was the right time to send this letter.
The public can view the letter and watch the January 27th special meeting online at www.dakota.legistar.com/calendar.aspx.
