The CenterPoint Energy Foundation is marking America’s upcoming 250th anniversary by investing in
Minnesota veterans.
The Foundation has awarded a total of $250,000 in grants to 18 Minnesota nonprofit organizations that serve veterans and military families. Individual grants range from $5,000 to $25,000 and will help fund programs focused on mental health services, housing stability, and other everyday needs.
Among the organizations receiving funding are Disabled American Veterans of Minnesota Foundation, Second Harvest Heartland, Helping Paws, Inc., United Heroes League, and Veteran Resilience Project, Inc., along with 13 other veteran-serving nonprofits across the state.
CenterPoint Executive Vice President Jason Ryan says the grants reflect the company’s respect for those who have served and are designed to help veterans thrive while strengthening local communities.
CenterPoint says it employs more than 700 veterans across its four-state service area, where they continue serving their communities by helping provide safe, reliable electric and natural gas service.
