Hastings School Board Reviews Perception Survey Data

On Wednesday, December 3rd, the Hastings School Board had a special meeting to review the results of the School Perceptions survey. Trending results were clustered within the three surveyed groups: staff, parents, and students.

The school board also reviewed comments from staff, parents, and students that gave opinions on ISD 200’s strengths, as well as areas of improvement.

The percentage of participation from each surveyed group: staff 49%, parents 14%, and students 78%.

In the special meeting, Daren Sievers, School Perceptions project manager, reiterated that all the data received is good data. Sievers pointed out that if the survey came back showing that everything was fine, then that would be worrisome. From the survey data, Sievers advised that ISD 200 administrators select one or two areas of needed improvement to focus their energy.

After the December 3rd meeting. KDWA connected with School Board member Mark Zuzek for his reaction to the School Perception survey.

KDWA also reached out to Hastings Superintendent Dr. Kristine Wehrkamp Herman regarding action-steps following the December 3rd special meeting.
