Summer is here, and that means more time spent enjoying the water! Whether you’re swimming, boating, or visiting the Hastings Family Aquatic Center, practicing water safety is one of the best ways to help ensure a fun and safe season for everyone.
To help keep everyone safe, all life jackets used at the Hastings Family Aquatic Center must be U.S. Coast Guard-approved. These life jackets have been tested and certified to provide reliable flotation and are designed to help keep wearers safe in the water.
Before your visit:
Check for a U.S. Coast Guard approval label inside the life jacket.
Make sure the life jacket is the correct size for the wearer.
Ensure all straps and buckles are secure and in good condition.
Please note that inflatable swim aids, water wings, and other non-approved flotation devices are not a substitute for a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket
