Attorney Aaron Dean of Spencer Fane, representing Peter Meursu, proprietor of the former Hastings Creamery
building, provided an update on the site cleanup. Dean says soil samples have been taken, with results expected back any day now, and he anticipates no issues.
Before the demolition project can officially close out, turf at the site must be established so crews can remove fencing and stormwater protection measures.
KDWA also spoke with Community Development Director John Hinzman for the City’s perspective on the progress at the former creamery site and whether any future plans have been discussed.
