Hastings Hawks Take Down Hudson Wednesday

After an early deficit, the Hastings Hawks offense carried them to a 14-7 victory over Hudson on Wednesday. After scoring three runs in the bottom of the first inning to lead 3-0, the Hawks gave up seven total runs in the next two innings to trail 7-3. The Hawks plated three runs in the fifth to cut the deficit to one trailing 7-6, but then scored two in the seventh to get out in front 8-6. Looking for insurance in the eighth, the Hawks would score five more runs, and added one more in the ninth to get to the final tally. Kelin Rasmussen went 3-5 at the plate driving in three runs, while Dylan Larson went 3-4 driving in a run. Reece Cox pitched the last four innings for the Hawks and earned the win, as despite the seven runs given up the Hawks pitchers gave up just four hits overall. The Hawks are now 11-11 on the season, and take on the Prescott Pirates on Saturday.
