In a three-part story, KDWA is looking at the Hastings High School Pathway Program.
The Pathway Program consists of five focused career fields: art and communication, health and human services, science and technology, business and entrepreneurship, and engineering and manufacturing.
In the Health and Human Services portion of the Pathway program, KDWA spoke with Katie Jones, program manager with Allina Health.
Jones shared with KDWA how the Hastings High School and Allina Pathway partnership was created.
Jones explains her role in the Pathway Program and how the classroom curriculum is developed and shares about the various medical professionals that support education in the Health and Human Services of the Pathway Program.
Jones pointed out that this partnership has a two-way impact: the students get to study various aspects of the medical field, and the community businesses are encouraged by the Pathway partnership.
