Hastings Neighborhood Infrastructure Improvements Project Update

Construction crews are making steady progress on the Hastings Neighborhood Infrastructure Improvements Project.

Over the past week, work began for street and concrete removal along 4th Street, while new curbs and driveways were installed on Pleasant Drive. Crews also installed a temporary watermain on 4th Street, which is now being tested before it’s put into service.

For the week of July 27, curb and driveway work will continue on Pleasant Drive. If water testing is successful, contractors could begin connecting homes to the temporary water system as early as Wednesday. Residents who will be affected will receive door hanger notices with additional instructions.

Meanwhile, sanitary sewer and watermain improvements are set to begin on 4th Street, and boulevard grading will continue on Pleasant Drive ahead of new sidewalks and trail construction.

Drivers should remember the intersection of Pleasant Drive and 4th Street remains closed. Residents are also asked not to move construction stakes and to avoid parking on streets under construction between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
