Hastings Pilot Program Expands Transportation Access With On-Demand Transit Service

A pilot program in Hastings is allowing those with limited transportation options to travel more through the Transit Link on Demand.

Dakota County Transportation Coordinator Robyn Bernardy said Transit Link on Demand is a program to help Hastings residents use public transportation in an updated way to better compete with other transportation options.

The Transit Link on Demand program, offered by Met Council in Hastings, provides on-demand public transportation on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10am to 2pm.

Rides can be booked via the Metro Micro app or by calling 651-602-5465.

The program, which started in May, costs $1 per ride and offers quick availability with a 6-7 minute wait time. It serves all residential and most commercial areas within Hastings. Payment options include exact cash or a reloadable go-to card.

For assistance with app usage, contact Dakota County’s travel training department at 651-554-6956.
