This past week was Snoweek for the Hastings School District. Kids showed their school spirit by
dressing up or participating in the different events throughout last week. In the high school there was a day when students carried their books in anything except a backpack. On that day, high schoolers carried their books in milk crates, luggage, baskets, and even in kayaks. Why? Because that’s just fun!
At the high school, Snoweek ended with a pep fest in the gym where Matthew Maulucci and Violet Schult were crowned Snoweek king and queen!
KDWA was there and connected with Maulucci and Schult.
Maulucci was honored to be chosen and offers insight into his people of inspiration who were with him at the event.
Schult was surprised to be crowned Snoweek queen and shares about who she chose as her people of inspiration.
Congratulations to the Snoweek king and queen! And to top everything off, high schoolers were able to join in on some fun at Nickelodeon Universe. On Friday evening, they jumped on a bus and headed to Mall of America, where they got to go on rides, hang out with friends, and eat junk food. Sounds like a pretty great time for high school students! And a big thank you to the Hastings School District, staff, and volunteers for making Snoweek happen!
