Miesville, Hastings, and Prescott Weekend Results

The Miesville Mudhens picked up right where they left off to begin 2026, with a dominating 12-2 victory over Rosetown in their opener on Sunday as heard live on KDWA and via KDWA Boxcast on KDWA.com. Hastings alumni and current Northern State University athlete Eddie Peine had a day at the plate, after the Mudhens fell behind 2-0 in the first inning, Peine would drive in a run via a single, then put Miesville ahead 4-2 with a three-run home run no doubter over the left field fence. Then just an inning later, Peine came to bat with the bases loaded.

Peine drove in eight runs in the contest, as Miesville broke the game wide open, and added another three-run homer by Evan Nelson in the same inning, and Shannon Ahern ended the game an inning early with an RBI single to get to the 10-run mark. Miesville is now 1-0 on the season, and will play back-to-back games next Sunday and Monday to celebrate the Memorial Day weekend against St. Paul Hops and Red Wing. Hear highlights of the broadcast later this week on KDWA.

The Hastings Hawks had a pair of exhibition game wins over the weekend, winning 17-0 over the Rochester Roadrunners, and 11-5 over the Cokato Kernels. The Hawks will have another exhibition matchup against the River Falls Fighting Fish on Wednesday, before returning to Section 1 play against the New Market Muskies on Friday.

The #9 Prescott baseball team split a doubleheader with #13 Wisconsin Dells on Saturday, dropping game one 7-3 and winning game 2 8-3. In game one, the Chiefs scored seven unanswered before the Cardinals plated three in the sixth inning. Game two was the opposite, with the teams traded runs in the first two innings with Prescott out in front 4-2, then added two more runs in the third and insurance in the seventh to close it out for the win. Prescott is now 15-6 overall and will wrap up the regular season and Middle Border Conference play this Tuesday and Thursday against Baldwin-Woodville.
