Miesville Posts Yet Another Comeback Win Late in #1 vs #2 Matchup Wednesday

It was a wild back and forth contest as the #1 Miesville Mudhens took on the #2 St. Paul Mudhens at The Jack on Wednesday evening, winning 14-9 as heard live on KDWA and the KDWA YouTube stream.

Miesville fell behind early 2-0 in the top of the first inning, but like they have done so many times this season that deficit did not last long as Ronnie Sweeny hit a two-run double and scored another on an error to lead 3-2 after the first. That score held until the fourth when St. Paul plated another two runs to lead 4-3, but in the fifth Alex Hendrickson drove in two runs on a single to put Miesville back out in front 5-4. In the eighth, St. Paul struck for more runs and took another lead plating five to lead 9-5, but Miesville answered yet again. An Alex Mezzetti ground ball plated a run on an infield error, then a Max Gamm single up the middle plated two runs and another St. Paul error scored another to tie the game at 9. Still with just one out in the inning, Hendrickson drove in another run on an RBI single and Joey Werner drove in another run to make it 11-9. Not done, Miesville scored another run on a bases-loaded walk, Mezzetti drove in another run on a fielder’s choice, and Evan Nelson drove in another for the Mudhens to score 9 runs in the inning to lead 14-9 and closed out the game from there.

Miesville is now 19-3 and will host Dundas tomorrow.
