Prescott, Wisconsin: Great Rivers Second Addition

From the Prescott City Council meeting on December 8th, a business item was a resolution accepting public improvements for Great Rivers’ second addition development.

In August 2021, the Great River Second Addition was approved as the next stage of single-family development in the Great Rivers subdivision. The public improvements for this stage are now completed, and the developer is seeking to finalize their responsibilities and move the improvements into city possession.

During the meeting, Prescott’s City Administrator, Matt Wolfe, pointed out, “Now that the public improvements have been built or substantially completed, per city code, a resolution must be adopted by City Council approving and accepting these public improvements.”

The approximate sum of public improvements, in this stage, is as follows:

Road Centerline—3700 Linear Feet

Watermain—3224 Linear Feet

Sanitary Sewer—2879 Linear Feet

These utilities and streets serve the platted lots within the Second Addition and are the portions of the project that are prepared for acceptance.

One side note: the park dedication area was not included in the resolution. According to the city document, a required grading plan for the park area hasn’t been submitted, and per Prescott city code, without the grading plan being submitted and approved, the city cannot accept the land. Additionally, the developer is responsible for grading the anticipated area of use and seeding the park area. The city will work with the developer to have the park land prepared as part of the Great Rivers Third Addition. Within the parkland are stormwater ponds that were installed within the boundary, and these are the responsibility of the developer until work on the Third Addition is completed.
