The City of Hastings municipal offices are closed for Presidents’ Day today. Presidents‘ Day, celebrated on the third Monday in February, officially honors the Feb. 22 birthday of George Washington, the first U.S. president. This includes city hall, public works, and the library. Essential services, such as police and fire, will operate as normal, and there is no mail delivery. Many banks and financial institutions close for the federal holiday, and anyone requiring their services should plan to use them Tuesday.
