The section 1A playoffs have been set, with the #1 in class A Miesville Mudhens earning the top seed being undefeated against section teams as well as first place in the Classic Cannon Valley League. The top four teams from the section qualify to state, which means Miesville needs to win only two games to qualify to the state tournament, and three in a row to be the top seed from the section. The Mudhens await their opponent on Sunday, August 2nd, which will be the winner of Lakeville and Owatonna which will take place on Saturday, August 1st. Other first round games that Saturday include New Ulm at Hastings with the winner traveling to Elko on Sunday, and Hampton at Faribault with the winner traveling to Rochester on Sunday.
The section tournament is a double elimination format, and Miesville will play on August 2nd and August 9th, both Sunday games, and barring two losses in a row, against on Friday, August 14th and potentially on Saturday, August 15th.
