Tatia Nelson Recaps the Holiday Hoopla

The 14th annual Holiday Hoopla was on Saturday, November 29th, in downtown Hastings. The snow didn’t keep folks away. There were fun activities, eating, and shopping to do indoors. The Holiday Hoopla kicked off with breakfast with Santa at the Lock and Dam Eatery. There was a craft vendor fair at the American Legion, WHO hair and face painting at the Hastings Beauty School, and photos with the Grinch at The Studio Downtown. Mayor Mary Fasbender read stories to little ones at The Studio Downtown, and later that evening Mayor Fasbender initiated the tree lighting at City Hall.

The Holiday Hoopla is presented by the Hastings Downtown Business Association.

Tatia Nelson, proprietor of The Busted Nut and president of the Hastings Downtown Business Association, connected with KDWA for a recap of the Holiday Hoopla.

Nelson explains why the Holiday Hoopla is a key day during the holiday season and reminds folks that the Holiday Hoopla is for all ages. Would Nelson call the Holiday Hoopla a success? Of course! Nelson reminds residents to shop Hastings first.

Because of the cold, snowy weather and safety concerns, the horse and wagon ride for the Holiday Hoopla was canceled. But Tatia Nelson looks ahead to events coming to downtown Hastings.
