Raider Hockey Teams Win
The Hastings Raiders boys hockey team had to hold off feisty Tartan, 5-3 on Saturday in Oakdale. The Raiders scored twice in the first five minutes on goals from Michael Kennedy and Will Savage before Tartan scored on a 5-on-3 with two seconds left in the first period. The Raiders then got two goals in under a minute from Finn Zaruba early in the second period to make it 4-1, before the Titans clawed back to 4-3 late. The Raiders made sure Tartan was unable to pull their goalie for the extra attacker, and yet scored anyway, with Rylan Krauth finishing the game off for the 5-3 win. Hastings returns to action against Waconia on Tuesday before the Hockey Day fun.
For the Girls, Olyvia Erickson’s 5-point day was the story in the Raiders 6-1 win over Visitation. The Raiders also got goals from Sophie Thorkelson, Allison Werner, Anni Schriefer and Stella Thurmes with Erickson contributing on 5 of the 6 goals. The Raiders are now off until Hockey Day MN.
Prescott Hoops Drops Two
Prescott Boys Hoops saw their hot start to 2026 come crashing down. After a controversial home loss to Somerset, the Cardinals were nipped by Osceola on the road, 56-50, before falling to #1 Freedom 66-48 in the Midwest Players Classic in La Crosse.
The Cardinals will look to get back on track Tuesday night against Wausau West.
