Construction continues this week as part of Hastings’ 2026 Neighborhood Infrastructure Improvements project.
During the past week, crews completed the first lift of asphalt on Pleasant Drive and continued boulevard restoration and preparation for the new trail.
Work also continued on watermain and sanitary sewer improvements along 4th Street.
Looking ahead to the week of August 10, crews will continue watermain and sanitary sewer improvements along 4th Street. That work is expected to continue for approximately three more weeks.
Paving of the new trail along Pleasant Drive is tentatively scheduled to begin Monday, August 10th. Boulevard grading and cleanup along Pleasant Drive will also begin, and sanitary sewer and watermain service improvements on 4th Street may get underway toward the end of the week.
The intersection of Pleasant Drive and 4th Street is now open to local residents only.
Residents are reminded not to touch the wooden stakes installed throughout the construction area, as they are critical to the project. Yes, kiddos, the stakes look like swords with pink handles, but they are not swords. Please, leave the construction stakes alone.
Drivers are also asked not to park on streets under construction between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Questions or concerns about the project can be directed to the Hastings Engineering Department at 651-480-2334.
